It’s that time of year when gnomes engage in their annual migration. This year the Micrognome followed the mercury downhill and ended up on the apple isle for a few cool days off grid.
Ah, the epicurean delights of Launceston and its hinterland. But if the food, wine and excellent service aren’t reason enough, here are some other excuses to visit Tasmania:
- beaches on the Freycinet Peninsula
- glimpses of history
- morning cloud lifting off mountainsides (picture above)
- the Cradle Mountain National Park (below)
- rare flora and fauna
- bountiful harvests
- serious off grid activities: bush walks, sea kayaking, fishing
- unlimited Oxygen
- limited Net access
Why wouldn’t you?
